Hey guys just a little game here...

    Beat those temps :D

I'm just curious how impressive it can get :p I don't care how you get your temps, I don't care if you put your laptop in the freezer or anything but just try to get your best temps possible without editing your screenshot or just telling lies.

    Here's my shot
    [IMG]

and btw this isn't my best, my best is 36C I think. I will try to get better :)

    EDIT *

NEW ATTEMPT here are my results

Impossible game because of differences in ambient temperature, clocks, vbios, drivers etc etc

Be warned as well a couple of people have used dry ice and seen quite severe below freezing point temperatures so you will be beaten! :p

    Nice temps though fella :D

Takes the car, goes to uni and borrows some liquid nitrogen :p. I'm not going to do it, not crazy enough for liquid nitrogen, but the temps would be insanely low that's for sure hehe.

EDIT: For future reference: dry ice is around -75C, liquid nitrogen is at -196C. I foresee a potential problem with the plastic becoming as brittle as glass with liquid N.

Ok... it's not a G73, but I post it anyway, just for fun :D

Unfortunately you can only see the CPU temps here... but it was about the same on the GPU, hahahahaha

I dont have the luxury of having the correct Vbios so im stuck with the gimped clocks unfortunetely, along with the fact I like high performance all the time and never turn my G73 off the lowest I see from the GPU is 47oC but the highest is 79oC so im not complaining.

If it hasn't burnt out by the time I am about to sell it I wont be happy :D

Dallers, OK I will bite, Did you have a problem when you attempted to update the VBIOS?
@Blackluc What is your secret for low temps, I can not clock below 85/110 on the GPU and temps are always in the 45 C range at that clock speed?
Give it up man, and the rep will pour in!!
@Crappy Alloy 40/80 AMAZING mine black screens when I go below the aforementioned GPU clocks...

Ok I was wrong, 80 on the memory for me creates a few weird oddities (difficult to explain, but it does still run at that speed.), decided on just 40/90...I coulda sworn 80 worked fully lol

This screen shot is just after hours in witcher 2 (literally taken minutes ago) at over 90C, very high ambient so it had very little time to cool. Ive seen my GPU at about 36C from a cold start with these clocks and takes a very long time to reach even the mid 40's, though I usually keep them at 70/100 because anything lower and just two windows open at once lag a bit :D lol

Anyways, just thought Id provide some proof that I can go that low, but like I said, ill see how cool I can get it on the weekend, with nothing special other then my extremely low clocks

Im with JOSEA, Blackluc how on this Earth could you have gotten 38C at 700/1000!? lol :p

Oh I know, you must have turned your heat sink into pure synthetic diamond :D ahaha

Its not better then the first post but for me this is as low as i have got my CPU without a big fan :D Might try to use a AC method later lol. But at a room temp of 19c on with a open bottom cover i get this:

Ou i remove the heatpad....its just thermal paste :D

Edit: Just saw the 700/1000 and i had 405/1000. my temp whent upto 50-51 on the shader and mem at 700/1000 so an avarage temp i think.

The best I was able to do was using the SF19 with it at full blast and running it outdoors at 5AM during the winter for awesome ambients. I believe I had it down to 32C idle, and 58C Furmarks. I also quickly found the need to be in warmer jammies.

The 2nd photo is a ruse... it's a 460m running at 5870 clocks... I wanted to see if anyone would catch that. :B

The first one is accomplished with a sneaky trick, and no, not a freezer. :)

    @tilla... we're doing 700/1000 clocks

    Easy -> shader clock

Show us the whole sensor screen.
I could switch to 700/1000 and take a snapshot after 1 second.

Ran it for 20min at 700/1000 then when up to 855/1150......now thats cold.

LoL and no green spots. But don have the balls to go up higher.

Yeah but these measurements are with GPU load at 0%. Even if you run the clocks up the temps stay down. I also can stay wellunder 40C VERY easy at my max OC with 0% load at 1.2V on my 4670.

Now I want to see peoples temps at 100% LOAD!! If they can stay under 56C at 800/1000 lovely! Make that 1150 with that efficient GDDR5 the 5870 has :D

Ill do a test later :) But the good news it that this thest i did prover that the green spots i had at 1090 before with no tricks was heat related.

Will try to run furmark in about an hour or so :)

    Adator no, converter yes.

Running it from a converter and the 150w adaptor.
Doing some test at the moment. 700/1000 furmark if in good position i got 40c ..... ill add pics soon. Gone do some more tests.

First furmark run 700/1000. was looking for the best position thats why its spikes.

    temps at 700/1000

Second test was 800/1100 but i did not save the pic :( but i did get a good pic of 845/1130
    Temps at 845/1130

Anything more then 1140 on the mem. and i get green spots. Core can go upto 870 no problem. To be safe i ran it on 1130 and got no spots.

With no load i got better temps then before as found the perfect position for the notebook :) Cant go lower then 22c
    No load temps take 2

The green spots mybe the Vrams bad repast. I ran out of IC 7 when i added the heatsink without thermal pads

We dont need cooling in Britain we just need a British Summer haha now stop trying to cool things down and go game on that bad boy!

I honestly think its more impressive to have the highest possible temps than the lowest.....Let me go remove my heatsinks and well see who can throttle the hardest before meltdown! :twitchy:

I have a nother test planed soon. Just need to get some parts. To bad its a bit hard to get your hands on liquid nitrogen here :( :D

P.S good work on the temps Blackluc. What did you to to get the temps ?
