Hi, I need a laptop for Diablo 3. Anyone have a reccommendation for a good laptop at or under $1000? thanks!

oh, and are prices going to be changing or something? i am readnig all this talk about a new ivy bridge processor coming out or something-- should i wait until that drops so that the lower end models will be cheaper, as well? sorry this will be only the 2nd computer i buy.

    thanks!

Diablo 3 is not challenging I can run it at high settings on my M11x so any Asus gaming laptop is not going to have a problem as long as it has a Quad Core as there is quite a lot of physics involved in the game.

Just make sure you do not get a 128bit GPU if you can however for under $1k you will probably be drawn towards the BB version of the G74SX or the G53SX. Personally if you are going to go for a 128bit GPU go for the G53SX as it is a smart little model.

You could otherwise look towards the older G73/G53SW however this comes with the slightly aged 460M GTX. If you wait however once the G75/G55 come out the G74 will drop in price.

If you cannot wait consider looking at a Sager/Clevo/MSI.

You might consider one of those MSI force based notebooks that xoticpc or gentech makes. Should fit the bill in your price point.

Topics like this really belong in the what notebook should i buy section. You will get more suggestions. Given the usual pricing on asus gaming notebooks, you'll likely have to go with a refurb.
