Hi, I recently saw the G750 at best buy. Specs: core i7 4700hq, 8gb ram, 1tb hdd, nvidia gtx 860, 1080p screen. Was wondering if this particular model has two hard drive bays like the other retail G750 models? They're asking $1299 for it, and I'd hate to buy it, crack it open to install an ssd and find there is no second hdd bay. Thanks!

Hi TomJGX thanks for the info! In the past best buy sold Asus G-series notebooks and they were slightly gimped, usually in the gpu area. At least their current offering looks like the base model sold on newegg.com and other websites. So, maybe they stopped that practice. Thanks again!

BB used to sell their G series with 1600x900 screens. But they were usually cheaper than elsewhere as well.

They don't do that anymore.. They usually gimp on the GPU (765M/860M) and less RAM/hard drive space...

Also if your going the Best Buy route make sure to pick up a 10% off coupon found in the movers packet at a local USPS. It worked for me :)

The 860M is a fine option though at least this time round, a little slower at stock but loads of headroom.

Best Buy sells the the same G750JM (860M,etc) as everyone else as far as I know, for the same price too. They do have the higher models with better specs for sale on their online store, but they don't stock them in-store.

It's a bit pricy to stock the higher end models all over the place after all, would be the same for any gaming notebook.
