    I searched! Don't kill me.

I got the Best Buy model and want to upgrade the screen to a 1080p one.
Assuming the Hannstar screen is the best which one do I get... there are two versions:

Laptop LCD Screen 100% compatible to the HSD173PUW1 Rev.0 A00. Brand-new (never used).
Laptop LCD Screen 100% compatible to the HSD173PUW1. Brand-new (never used).

Thanks for any and all help,
    tmt

EDIT: Looks like Hannstar is the best one that is for sure compatible, I'm taking the safe route! Removed part of question.

EDIT AGAIN: For future readers/googlers I emailed the people at laptopscreen.com and they said that the HSD173PUW1 (NOT the HSD173PUW1 REV.0 A00) is the superior screen between the two.
    HSD173PUW1 REV.0 A00 vs HSD173PUW1

HSD173PUW1 REV.0 A00 or HSD173PUW1 (so that this thread shows in google).

They both say they are genuine Hannstar panels, so pick your favorite link.

I plan on doing the upgrade in a month or so. I want to make sure I thoroughly research before I do anything.

I will be sure to post on how I like it and some comparison pictures! ;)

    Ahhh finally a screen thread...

IMO the hannstar FULL HD is not bad if you are looking at it straight on... The brightness will dim drastically when not viewing it straight ahead, perhaps if there is someone at your side looking at what your doing. Hannstar is 180 Nit brightness which is not that much.

    Check this out

    AUO LCD

I will upgrade from my HANNSTAR FHD to this panel. Dell Users say this panel is awesome. Its way brighter and has nicer viewing angles.

I'm pretty anal about my screen. And i always have stuff showing to my clients sitting beside me and their always trying to get in the center cuz its so damn dim, Apparently that website sells panels for a very cheap price. The hannstar is only 5 dollars cheaper than that AUO.

Its very easy to change on the G73.

Yeah the Hannstar doesn't have the best brightness but its got amazing black levels which very important to me cause I watch a lot of shows that are dark.

    According to here at least:
ASUS G73Jh: Today's Top Gaming Laptop - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News

I'd love to know if the screen in the Dell Precision M6500 is compatible, it seems to be the one to beat in that review. I can't seem to find what screen it is using.

The m6500 screen is not compatible with the g73. They have different sizes. I will order the AUO screen this week and let you know how it went.

Hopefully will be uploading some pic comparison.
