    Hi Guys,

I'm having super problems getting my laptop to even get into the bios after I rebooted after installing SP1.

    Fair to tell the story.

I just got a new SSD (OCZ Vector 2) and reformatted last night. Woke up to SP1 being RTMed and leaked, so I installed it. After installing everything seemed fine and dandy until I restarted.

Now when I restart, the screen doesn't come on, windows doesn't boot. I do see the Keyboard lights come on and go off.

So I figured I'd swap my old HDD for the new SSD and see what happens. The PC booted fine, but when I restarted again with that drive, the same thing happened.

I was running the following setup:

    Windows Ultimate 64bit
GSOD vBios with OD modded by Chasity
    Jan 6th 211 build beta 4 BIOS

I am really stuck what to do, as I can't even get into the bios to reflash.

    Any suggestions?

So, your laptop boots on your regular HD but not on the SSD?

Nope, it doesn't boot with either drive. The old drive still had Win 7 but no SP1. Starting to think it just crapped out.

Time for RMA (again...) I guess.

The screen doesn't come on at all when you turn it on? Have you tried taking the battery out and unplugging the AC adapter, then letting it sit for a few seconds?

Yes, tried resetting the cmos also. Held power button for 30 seconds and tapped F2 booting to reset bios. Tried booting with no HDD, stock HDD, SDD, both, USB.

Tried hooking upto an external monitor.

And nothing. Pretty sure it wasn't SP1 related now though, just think it was a coinsidence.

Well then... sounds like a hardware issue. You can try one stick of RAM at a time, taking the hard drives out, and maybe the optical drive too. If it's only on for a second or two something with the POST is going wrong. You can try powering it on without the battery too. I'd try to rule absolutely everything out before you RMA.
