The Corel software that came with my G73 (cineplayer 5.6) wanted to update itself on first run. That update deleted the software and then quit. Since then, I've written ASUS who actually suggested a web site that wanted to do a 'security scan' before presenting me the download of cineplayer. ASUS stated they had no reinstall package available. The links in the thread mentioned above are no longer valid (as the thread is two years old). The selector at the ASUS site no longer offers the choices mentioned in the thread and the mirror site no longer exists.
So, does anyone know of an install for the cineplayer? I can find the non-bluray version all over, but not the bluray version. My guess is it violated some copy-protection scheme. I'm looking for the 5.6 or 5.8 version. I'm surprised you can't find it at all at ASUS, as they loaded it on the box. Suppose I should check the discs that came with the laptop...
