I have a bluetooth mouse, an MX1000 logitech. On my last machine this mouse never let me down, I paired it once, and then for a year or so it always worked. On the g73jw a couple of times a day the mouse just drops out. I have to either remove it, and re-pair it, or disable bluetooth and re-enable it. Some times I have to reboot.

Anyone have a solution for this? It's really annoying to be in the middle of a game, or even work and have to stop everything and re connect the mouse.

You could try and update the BT software.

That may do it but I wonder If its something deeper then that. This also happens to my wacom tablet mouse and pen. It works fine but then randomly it just stops working. disabling and enabling it does nothing so I'm forced to restart. really annoying and I have the latest wacom drivers too.

I've never had good luck with bluetooth peripherals. They are always erratic in my experience. I had a bluetooth Microsoft mouse with one of those bluetooth nubs I used on another laptop. It would work, then quit, reboot, work again, etc. I tried it on the G73 and it wasn't much better so I gave it away to someone. No more bluetooth peripherals for me.

My bluetooth radio is relegated to the occasional link with a phone to move a file or contact card or something.

If you like wireless, I bought a Logitech Performance Mx mouse and it works flawlessly. It does use a USB nub, but it is tiny. This doesn't fix your bluetooth issue but my recommendation is to just use a technology that works properly and forget the bt stuff. Even when I had it working it wasn't as responsive as a dedicated technology for me.

    Hello,

If you use your BT devices in an area with WiFi - Even using the internal WiFi (Wireless) adapter - then you can/will experience problems with BT connectivity. BT and WiFi use "relatively" the same bandwidth 2.4Ghz range. I use a pair of Motorola Stereo Headphones that are BT and when I am work it takes several prayers and reboots for the headset to connect without static. This only happens when I am at work, which happens to be saturated with Wireless access points and wireless devices.

Just an FYI - more or less. Not much can be done to stop wireless interferances.

    In Peace and Agape,
    Trav...

Yeah, I've been using this mouse with a different laptops running bluetooth and wifi at the same time for over a year. THis is the only machine that has ever had a problem. Its more than likely the software dropping the ball, as it should just recconect. WHen I restart the bluetooth on the ASUS it finds it right off the bat.

Hopefully they will come out with a fix, I've notiecd several people having the same issue, but no solutions.

I tried to use a BT mouse on my Dell Studio 17. It worked well most of the time but would stop when I did a large file transfer when my machine was on a wireless connection. I told a few techy people about it and I could tell by the way they looked it me they thought I was nuts. I gave up on it and used a wired one, they always work and the battery never goes dead.

This only happens to my windows computers (Asus and HP). All three macs work with MS & HP BT mice w/o issue. Under windows BT keyboards don't seem to work at all. I have a feeling Microsoft's BT support is just poor.

    Cheers,

I don't trust BlueTooth enough to put my K :D ranking at risk (j/k). Anyways, yeah WIFI can kill Bluetooth signals (depending on the channel). I'd try changing your router (if you're at home), to use a different channel (1-11), it might help.

Well, it's because microsft left the bluetooth support up to different companies rather than doing it in-house. My last machine was an MSI GX710. Bluetooth worked flawlessly with this mouse, and other bluetooth devices. Asus's bluetooth software is just buggy.

Its' the same router/channel I've been using with this mouse for a year or so with no issues. the computer has no problem seeing the mouse, it stops talking to it after a while.
