Hi
I want to ask about bluetooth icon on Asus G73JH.I am frustrating about the bluetooth icon, it won't show up. I tried to reformat my laptop and it still won't show up. Before I have the bluetooth icon in the system tray.
I tried to uninstall the bluetooth driver and downloaded the driver from Auss website and it ends up with no success.
Can you guys help me?
Thanks

What happens if you start it under Start -> Programs -> Toshiba Bluetooth (or something like that)? Normaly it should start then.
Have you removed it from the Autostart folder?
pato -
Click on start, type in bluetooth and click "Change Bluetooth Settings".
Then Check "Show the Bluetooth Icon in notification area":
The Icon should now show -
I never remove it from autostart
This is what I got if I search bluetooth:
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
The "Change bluetooth setting" won't show up
I can not even open the bluetooth program listed at first, but the second bluetooth (the one below) I can open that, but I can not send/receive the bluetooth -
Looks like it's not turned on. Do you have Wireless Console 3 installed? If so, double click it's icon...then is there a grayed-out bluetooth icon to click on?
-
Yes, I have it installed for sure. But whenever I click the Wireless Console 3 icon, there is only an option to turn on/off the wireless, not the bluetooth...

Only this icon that show up whenever I press Fn+F2
I wonder that the bluetooth won't show is that because I format it through windows partition (I mean not using recovery discs) ? -
well you don't have installed it properly if it doesn't show you the bluetooth
-
I might have missed it, but what model G73JH do you have? I thought the BestBuy/NewEgg models didnt even have Bluetooth
-
Mine is G73JH A2, it obviously has bluetooth as I have used bluetooth on this laptop before
Hmm I wonder how come I did not install it properly...
I formatted this laptop, and it should have the correct driver by formatting it,
I tried to uninstall the wireless console 3 and then downloaded from Asus website, I even tried it 2 times and I still can not use the bluetooth -
wireless console is not the bluetooth drivers
that's just like application to activate and desactivate bluetooth and wireless
you need the real bluetooth driver which you have on asus site probably and also maybe in chastity's page
look deeper man -
i know that, I already tried to uninstall and install the bluetooth driver too
-
You can check under USB devices if the BT was disabled in BIOS. You can also grab the correct BT drivers from my Driver Page, or use the ones on your Driver CD.
-
I heard that there is no Bluetooth settings in BIOS, so there is no option to enable/disable it,
furthermore I already tried to restore the BIOS settings too
Isn't that the bluetooth driver on Asus website the latest driver?
what do u mean by my driver page? Is it Device Manager? -
Yes there is, under the USB settings. You can lock/unlock the various USB devices, which is a nice way of saying disable/enable.
My Driver Page link is in my sig. -
Gallant were you able to find the solution to this???well now enduring this pain in the too....Due to SP1 not installing on my system due to driversweeper or whatever i used to clean my sytem i decided to do a clean install and went ahead and installed all the new drivers and it occured to me that my Bluetooth wasn't showing...i though it might have been for the updated chipset driver i used and since i couldn't revert to the old one did a new clean install and this time round allowed my DriverDVD to work while i starred..After finishing there was no BT again..trying to install brings up something like bluetooth not enabled or attached...But i cant find any key or combination on the laptop to enable it since Fn+F2 toggles wireless on and off nothing more like it used to toggle between BT and WLAN prior to my clean install.....help.
-
Check in Bios, I think there is an Option to toggle it there.
-
sorry i couldn't find it in bios.....under which branch do i look....
@chastity did u mean under usb controllers i could enable/disable one of those to activate the BT..?? -
correct. from there you can see if the bt is locked

Did anyone figure out this problem? I have the G53jw which is the same model, smaller screen. I had to send it in for a new hard drive under warranty, and when i got it back, there is no bluetooth. It's exactly the same scenario as has been described by gallant and silvela. There is no option to enable the blue tooth in the bios. There is no option to enable it from anywhere in control panel or start menu. Again exactly like others described. I tried reinstalling the driver from the cd that came with the unit, as well as from the asus website. I get the "no bluetooth device was detected. please make sure your bt device is plugged in properly in order to continue installation" This is so annoying since I had the BT icon in my system tray when I first got the laptop. Now it's gone. HELP. Please!
-
i had the exact same problem long time back. All i did was reinstall the bluetooth drivers from the cd i got with my laptop and it works fine.

Optionally you could look in Device Manager under Bluetooth Radios.
Then right click BT-270, and hit Enable.
