    Hi folks...

    CT10N: Super-Multi Slim Blu-ray™ Combo Drive - LG Commercial

Can anyone tell me if this is the bluray drive installed in the G74 SX ?

I have the XR1 version , and I would like to find out if , it is better to replace the internal drive, or just simply , resort to an external solution...

    Thanks

I personally would get an external, and then get a ODD -> HDD caddy mount so that you can use the socket for a third HDD.

@Userdude, it just depends on your computing needs.
Might want to skip it, I find dual layer DVDs to hold enough data for me and I don't use bluray for movies. Buying it for your computer could increase it's resale value though

Make sure the connector is in the same location. I have a feeling that it is a standard form factor but be sure before buying

That drive will work for sure. There are some videos on youtube on how to change the bezel. It's a very simple mod.
