I gather it's a fairly new laptop. I've seen a fair bit of discussion the bigger G73 3DE...

My question is, are there any differences besides size?

Obviously I'm looking forward to its delivery - hopefully within the next week - but haven't been able to find any videos or demonstrations.

    Brief spec = Asus G53JW-3DE 15.6" HD 120Hz 3D
    NVIDIA GTX460M 1.5GB
    i7-740QM
    8GB DDR3
    500GB 7200
    Blu-Ray

I've ordered from Ken Lee at Gen Tech. All very smooth, pleasant to deal with.

Any people out there who have taken delivery of this laptop (or maybe the 17" version) care to add any opinions / reviews?

    Cheers

The biggest difference is the screen the G73 comes with 1920x1080 while the G53 comes with 1366x768, also blu ray writer vs only reader, dual hybrid drives. But it also cost more and its bigger.

As far as I was told neither of the 3d versions had "full HD"

and I'm quite interested in getting on the 3d bandwagon.

Besides the added portability I figured the lower resolution wouldn't really be all that much of a deal seeing as it's a smallish screen.

Well the G53 will be slightly more portable, its almost as big as my G71 (17''), the G73 is still bigger but not by much, its more like 18'', so at the end is like an inch more, neither fall into what i would call comfortable/portable, are more like desktop replacements. If you wish to see them compared in size,

Thanks for that, I suppose I was mistaken!

I guess it's the G53 that only lacks full hd.

I don't figure that will be too much of a problem. In one regard I think I'll be able to get a bit of a performance boost out of the lower res, and I doubt I'll really notice too much of a difference considering the tighter dimensions of the screen itself.
