Well hi everyone! Maybe one of you can help my frustrated friend![]()
He thinks he bricked his notebook with the new bios 213 from asus website.
Well i asked him how he flashed his bios and he told me used (as always) Easyflash from Bios Menu + Bootable USB Stick Fat32. (Same Procedure from 205 to 209 and later to 211)
Now his Notebook only shows a blackscreen (wont even turn on) and fans starts to spin after a few seconds and thats it....
What we tried together so far:
1. Pressing the Reset Button for 10 Sek. -> Not Working
2. Removing the CMOS Battery --> Not Working
So i think his AMI Bios is in a system block state and what we need is a "Press Key" procedure for example: Press and hold the End key while powering up the system etc.
So the question is: Is there any method to do a recovery bios like my m17x R3?
edit: Well my friend told me that a lot of other users had the same problem after flashing their bios to 213. Is RMA really the only chance? An other Asus notebook is able to recover a bios with a combination ctrl+fn+home (press and holding them) + turn on the notebook and after a few sec (i think 18 sec) the bios will be recovered. On the other side a "gaming notebook" like G73JH dont have such a feature?
well happy xmas for u all, and i hope u can send him a holy light

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the G73 does not have the advanced BIOS recovery feature of the AW M17
I have never read of a key combo to accomplish this either and I have been following threads since this model was introduced.
This thread reinforces what I believe to be true, you will have to RMA or at least take it to a competent repair shop if out of warranty.

Have him call (888) 678–3688 to set up his RMA for bricked BIOS flash, and it's covered under warranty. If you encounter any problems, PM me with his contact info. You can use Case# 1596348 with the call center.
