Hey,
I've had this issue for a little while now, and figured I'd bring it up to see if others have the same problem...
The latest generic Synaptics drivers work great, but I've experienced something consistently that makes me think it's actually a bug in the software somewhere.
After a day or so of running, my touchpad stops registering click taps and the entire driver basically stops functioning properly. When I tap to click, instead of registering the click, my cursor goes diagonally up to the right with each tap a consistent distance.
I use momentum on my touchpad also, and that functionality of the driver stops working (ie when I slide across the pad, there is no continued motion when I lift my finger).
I have reinstalled Windows fresh, and I had this issue with the same drivers prior so I guess I wanted to see if others are having similar oddities.
I also had this with the previous version of the generic driver:
Synaptics_v15_2_7_C_XP64_Vista64_Win7-64
and of course the latest which is:
Synaptics_v15_2_20_C_XP64_Vista64_Win7-64_Signed_Marketing_SGS94_UI-Scrybe
Of course going to the latest "ASUS" drivers which are the ones posted with the G74 does not offer the 2 finger scrolling option that I really like to have. I'm also not convinced this "bug" does not exist in that ASUS specific driver.
I guess I just want to feel like I'm not alone with this issue. A reboot of course fixes it for hours and in many cases a day or more, but it consistently comes back. Losing the ability to tap click is annoying and forces me to reboot more often than I'd like.

Chastity,
Thanks for the link... I'll check it next time I'm planning to reboot... I suspect though that this driver (like most other non-generic Synaptics drivers) does not support 2 finger scroll. From what I've seen, it's only been the generic Synaptics drivers that have that function, and the last 2 versions they released are listed above.
I actually haven't had the most recent driver set bug out on me yet, but it does happen if I frequently am using the touchpad after a day or two generally.
As I said, it's not something I can't live with, but it does make me reboot more than I'd ordinarily need to. I'll test it at some point and provide an update.
Thanks again. -
Well, I've finally correlated the problem to Foobar2000 and the Synaptics driver. They don't play nice together, and basically what happens is you lose the ability to tap click (the pointer just moves up and right).
Issue is outlined by a user here:

Apparently suspending/resuming resolves the issue as well, so that's the temp fix I'm using. Hopefully though there'll be some fix on the Foobar2000 side because I LOVE my foobar2000 UI.
