I need more storage and memory. The 506 comes with one ssd installed and one empty slot. I want to add another. Can I? If yes, how easy is it? There is an open memory slot for another stick. Should I buy one to add to what i have or buy 2 new identical sticks? Thanks for the Help.

Yes you can. I bought a used FX506L for my kid couple weeks ago and last night I took it apart for the first time.

You will need a philips head screw driver (size PH1) and preferably a spudger tool to help opening the case.

There is room for one extra m.2 ssd and one 2.5" ssd ( needs an extra cable like this) if you have small battery as shown on the video. So total of three drives.

I did take the memory out last night and looked at the model number but I didn't actually wrote down what model it was. 8GB ddr4 3200 if I remember anything right.

When you install a new drive, it will not be directly visible in windows. You have to go to disk manager first, create a new partition there and give it a driver letter.

    better late than never? :)
