Well since I got robbed at Christmas gpu prices have gone through the roof so instead of paying 1000 or more for abother 1080 I picked up this asus gtx 970 strix for right around 200 and boy am I glad I did, I started playing around ocing it and this is the BEST CARD I'VE EVER SEEN FOR OC CAPABILITIES I can max out the gpu clock, and take the memory to OVER 7GHZ YES I SAID 7GHZ my Temps started rising too hot for my liking if I push it any further, and this is on a STOCK air cooled card

Sorry to dissapoint your but memory clock doesn't really have an impact, so people don't bother OCing it. Also 7ghz is nothing compared to 12GHZ memory clocks on pascal cards...

Well I thought I did a good job considering it's over 2x stock clock speed :( and it gave me a extra 20 fps in synthetic haven't had a chance to yet

The thing that matters is GPU speed. That's the thing you want to focus on. It gives you much much much more FPS.

also 7ghz is stock memory clock on your 970 strixx. Lol

Nah might be that it's double pumped I guess. So 7ghz = 14GHZ memory clock, but again, it really doesn't do anything.

Try to play with the GPU clock some more, it will benefit you drasticly more.
