    Can you add eSata or USB 3.0 to Asus g73jh-rbbx05 instead of optical drive or USB 2.0 port?

    Anyone has tried it?

    USB 2.0 is way too slow !!! :mad:

    You might be able to hang a cable out of the optical drive bay and use esata that way, but it won't be pretty. There might be some kind of custom bracket for this, but I haven't ever seen one. Adding USB 3 is not possible.. look at the G73Jw instead, since it has USB 3.

    If you're looking for an ASUS laptop with the 5870m and USB 3.0, you're out of luck. You'll have to go with a different brand, like Sager. Any means of adding eSata, as Groceries said, would likely be a DIY hardware hack as opposed to factory/reseller.
