    Hi,

Still trying to replace one of my g73jh HDDs with an SDD:

    - removed the hard drive from the laptop
    - removed the four screws attaching the hard drive to its bracket

But the hard drive wouldn't budge. I followed the directions in the official ASUS dismantling manual, and those were the only four screws shown as needing to be removed.

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to get a new bracket for my SDD (Crucial 300 128GB)? Do I need to apply more force? If so, in what direction?

    Thanks.

Slide it up or down? Put some force it, if the screws are out then it won't break. You don't need a bracket necessarily but you will need someone in there to keep it in place.

It was just stuck. I found that if I held it firmly in one hand and pushed the top with my thumb and pulled the bottom with my other fingers it came out. Your reassurances that I probably wouldn't break it if I applied more pressure were very helpful.

    Thanks :)
