    Cannot Extend Partition?

    Steam automatically allocates all of it's downloads onto my primary drive (Drive C), but as you all know Drive C is pretty tiny. From what I've heard some people have had success by merging Drive C with Drive D.

    So I deleted the Partition Drive D and tried to Extend Drive C, but as you can see from the screenshot the option is blanked out.

    What am I doing wrong? It would really be nice to have a bigass primary drive.

    You can't extend the system partition while it's running, so you need a 3rd party utility. Back up your data and use something like gparted.

    i didn't even backup and i didn't lost any data
    you just extend, merge, split ..... while in windows mode with acronis disk director and hit apply after that let the magic happens
    but Acronis Disk Director it's not free :)

    From the screenshots it does look a lot more user friendly.

    i am telling you from experience
    very easy to use
    just click on C , right click > EXTEND and move the scroll to the end
    then apply > restart > wait a couple of minutes to extend your drive C
    finally you have succesifully extended partition :)

    I actually ran the program on a bootable CD. It is merging as we speak. Hopefully this'll pan out good. I'll edit this post later to update you guys on the results.

    WOw that seems so easy...wish I wouldve done that from the start..but now ive installed all kinds of crap on D drive...and Steam is filling up my C drive...uh oh what can I do?
