During system boot-up does anyone else experience what appears to be a heavily corrupted windows 7 logo at the bottom right of the screen for split second before the Welcome screen appears?
I did not experience this until I installed Catalyst suite 11.1a.
FWIW: I have a G73JH from Best Buy with the highly beloved AUO 1600x900 screen (sarcasm).
Anyone else seeing this?
-
yes i am seeing it too
i wanted to start a thread too about this but i don't think that is someting to worry about
11.1 is working perfectly for me -
Eh, I always get some sort of corruption on loading. It's an ATI thing.
-
yep this only happens on 11.1
-
There was a discussion about this in another thead about 4 months ago. No one ever solved it but at the time it seemed to happen everyone no matter what ccc drivers they were on.
It was like a flicker. -
also i want to mentioned this is not only happening on 5xxx series cards
i remember seeing it on my brothers HP 625 4XXX card ...
ou yeah i want to ask if someone is familiar with this issue
on his laptop after some time working in WIN 7 he was getting a black screen for 1 second and then back to normal ... i've tried updating the driver but same thing happened
once again i am talking about 4xxx series card but i believe that can happen to any card -
All ATI settings are on factory defaults so probably not powerplay. Plus I'm using the official updated vBios from ASUS.
What monitor do you have Fulcrum, hannstar, auo, resolution? Seems like it is corruption from a sync change from the video signal the GPU is putting out. Maybe some panels sync faster then others which explains why you don't see it while others do. -
Iam seeing it too, not in 11.1 WHQL but only on 11.1a
-
Sorry if I am pointing out the obvious, but; has anyone tried the no boot GUI option to rectify this?
-
I had this same issue so i rolled back to 10.12 as i got better performance from them in games like COD BO and a couple others so there was no point in sticking with the latest drivers..
Maybe 11.1b will address these issues ?..
-
Just to confuse the matter, there are 2 different 11.1a versions out
-
you mean the one from Ati's site
and a hotfix in your site ? (which i am using it) -
In general. As for teh hotfox, use the one dated 01/26
-
i am using these 19.01.2011
actually when you download them on the file writes
AMD_Catalyst_11.1a_Win7_Jan26
but in device manager it shows them
driver date 19.01.2011 -
The version i tried was from Chastity's link and i had issues with them but mainly just lesser in game performance ..
The graphic anomaly during boot did not bother me though but yeah its there.. -
I never had the problem you had but when I updated my driver and installed catalyst (idk what version, got it yesterday) I went to play dead space 2 and I got the GSOD and the graphics card started acting up. I uninstalled the catalyst and now its working great. my step dad also had problems with his ati cards overheating until he uninstalled catalyst. Idk what it is about catalyst, but it seems to just cause problems.
-
i am playing right now as i speak deadspace 2 on aticatalyst 11.1a hotfix
everything maxed out it runs very well
no gsods after the vbios... -
whats the latest most stable driver? I still have 10.8 cause it was perfect for me.
-
10.10 was perfect for me before
10.11 and 10.12 were crashing on my machine
now i am on 11.1a
haven't made a benchmarks for comparision
i am sure if you go to the benchmarking thread you will read from someone are 11.1a good enought
i might throw an eye too
