    Chances of G74 deal on Black Friday

    Hello all. I'm curious if anyone has an educated guess as to whether or not the G74 will have a Black Friday deal. I don't know much about Asus products so maybe they have a history of having decent deals on BF.

    I'm eying one of these bad boys up, but I'd prefer to wait if the deal is coming. If it's not, then it won't do me any good to wait :D.

    Very YMMV, I got an open box g74sxbbk7 from bestbuy for 742. was marked down to 935 -100-10%. I know it's the gimped gpu but for 805 out the door that's a super slick deal. I doubt you'd get anything better than that on black friday. Go to bestbuy website. look for their open box promotion and check the stock at your nearby stores. I got lucky there was one by me. Good luck

    Damn i paid mine a few weeks ago , 1370€ , 1900USD ... Omg , what deal.

    I thought about it , but it's a pain to buy , to find someone who can send it , and i was thinking that double shipping cost + taxes , i wouldn't win anything.

    I was completely wrong ... ( adding that i made tons of search to have it cheaper , and it was the cheaper i found in France , other where about 1600 , or 1300 but no bundle Headset/bagpack/mouse and only one year warranty ... )

    Next time , even if i'll get an Qwerty keyboard , i'll import it. Probably an M18X ... :(

    You also bought the version with 1080p and 192 bit gpu and it was not an open box.
    The one I got for 805 (742+tax) is 1200 retail at bestbuy. I got ~500 off of retail because it was openbox.

    Yeah , sure .. But it's still way cheaper , as 1200USD is far from 1200€ , and 500$ for an open box is a HUGE discount ! ;)

    You made a great deal , even with the 128bit GPU , the 1600*900 screen will requiere less performance than 1920*1080 ( and 1600*900 on my screen looks horrible ... )

    As long as you do not plug an 1920*1080 external screen , you'll get equivalent performance if not best because of that lower resolution.

    It was $1099 on newegg for the XN1 model. Not sure if it was cheaper anywhere else, but that's what I saw for newegg.
