Uhm... the drivers should not be causing temp fluctuations. You have other issues if they do.

You won't know how they will perform on your system until you try them.

    Added Intel 14.0.1.0.0 for 6300/6200/6250

edit: removed - lacking signed drivers

@Chastity: Why do a lot of G73 owners upgrade their Wireless Card with Intel 6200 or better from the stock Atheros? Is Atheros' performance not that good?

Atheros is the worst card I ever used. It even cause high DCP latency problem which basically screw the audio output.

Because we like the name Intel more than Atheros
Because we wanted to upgrade something more than RAM and HD and wifi was easy to reach
    Because we can

Oh and of course there was that random latency issue some G73 owners had with the Atheros that goes away when you install the Intel part.

    Cheers,

...plus double+ bandwidth capability, 5GHz band capability...of course, these don't apply to everyone's needs.

As stated earlier, the Atheros card is limited to 150mbit on 2.4Ghz

The Intel cards is cheap ($20-30) and easily upgradeable. They can do 300mbit on 2 antennae, 450mbit on 3 antennae with supporting router, and can also use 5GHz band.

Seeing as how I'm still using a WRT54GS v2 with Tomato, I'll hold off on the update. I don't have ping issues in game and streaming Bluray from NAS just won't work till I invest in a 802.11n router (which I'm quiet reluctant due to my love for Tomato).

I <3 my Linksys WRT610N. The 5GHz band is mine, and all the "other people" are on 2.4GHz.

Likewise! To me it would be a perfect router if it supported jumbo frames (just on the wired LAN would be fine), but still works great paired with Intel 6x00 wireless adapter.
