    i recently bought an asus g73sw-xn2 from ebay.. when i first boot it up i noticed that it took a long to fully boot and i formated the disk and installed a fresh windows 7.
    tdy i downloaded the hd tune to benchmark my disk.
    is this normal?

    Definitely not normal. That looks to be a bad/defective disk. Your read speed should dip a bit, but never to that extent.

    Does your laptop contain the new revision chipset? If it's the old one, that might be the problem.
    Or the HDD is just f***ed.

    Agree with Sarge's final line mine was like this shortly before it died.

    On HDDchk run a health check and see if it registers broken sectors I reckon it will sadly you may need a new HDD.
