My GL502VM is a little over a year old, and I never use the battery.
I opened up my laptop today only to find that the 4 battery cells were bulging.
Because the plastic case has some room, you wouldn't even know this happened.
Worst case, one day... kaboom. hard drive gone in blazing lithium fire, Tesla style.

Filed a warranty claim with my credit card, and they gave me a big fat check.

@link626, did you file for a warranty claim on the cost of replacing the battery or the whole laptop?
Do you plan on keeping it and replacing the battery or going for a whole new notebook? -

What I am curious is, which credit card company do you have? That's a nice benefit.
Check your battery. Open your laptop. You might have a bulging battery.
