Hi I am looking to try a new screen in my G73. I was looking and see a new screen is available. Here is the specs

    Chimei Innolux Corporation - 17.3\"FHD(N173HGE-L11/L21)

I hear mixed reviews for Chi-Mei screens but this is a new screen and can not find any other info on it. I currently have a AUO screen that they say is really good but honestly the viewing angles are poor. Anyone know what the difference between the L11 and L21 would be? Has anyone ever seen a Chi-Mei screen that they were impressed with the image quality? Thanks

This screen is great. It is on the new G74 glossy non 3D version. It has been tested by a German laptopr eview web site with a contrast of 1000:1.

I actually just purchased two CHI MEI N173HGE-L21. One for my Asus G73 and one for my Asus G74. As far as the image quality goes this screen is AMAZING! The difference between the original screen and this one is night and day. The colors are much richer and the blacks are a lot darker. Having said that I did run into a few problems. First off the LCD cable for the Asus G73 was not long enough to reach the LCD plug. I am looking into getting a converter / extender to make this work with the G73. Now onto the G74. I don't know if this is a compatibly issue but when I turn on my PC the screen does not get detected so I get a blank screen on login so to get it to work I have to put the laptop into standby then bring it out and it will work. Also I am getting a faint circle on both the screens I ordered on the same location so I don't know if I have a bad LCD cable or if both the screens are defective. I am going to be looking into it more. I might have to replace the Asus G73 screen with the same one as the original if I can't find a new LCD cable. Another thing I am looking into is using the LCD cable from the Asus G74 on the G73 but I haven't checked the connections on the actual motherboard yet.

Check out an N73SV Cable depending where it leaves the motherboard on the G73 and/or G74 as this is what is fitted in my N73SV checked with AIDA64 Extreme Edition
