Hey guys, so I have my new g74, and I want to have a clean install on the machine.

It cam with the drivers disk, but obviously no windows disk

I do have a windows 7 disk (that I bought a while ago) that i can use to create the clean install, but if i do that...

will i still be able to use the drivers disk? or is there a better way to go about this ?

thank you very much, all help is appreciated .

You will need to activate windows with the key on the bottom of your laptop. You can use your driver disc just fine.

One more thing, the install disc for windows has to be a Home Premium version since that is the one that comes with the G74.

cool, so I went ahead and did that, everything is working fine

except the P4G program says "this only works on asus computers"

so basically its not recognizing the fact its a asus laptop anymore?

I could kind of not care less, but I feel like I need that ability....

any ideas? also, can I use some other sort of program to adjust power consumption/ battery life vs performance??

    thanks...

Before you can install P4G, you'll also need to install the ATK package if you haven't done so already. Also disable UAC when trying to install P4G, some versions don't seem to like it.

Faster way to access the windows power managament, in the start menu search bar, type powercfg.cpl and hit enter.

Installing the ATK Package will solve that pesky "not an Asus" issue
