I'm about to buy the G73JW-XN1 from Newegg and a SSD boot drive for it. Question is, will I need to buy a new copy of windows or will I be able to somehow use the restore feature from the original drive to create a disk that will allow me to complete a CLEAN windows 7 install sans bloatware?
Thanks ahead of time for your help!
Only thing left to decide is whether to pull the trigger now or wait until Newegg starts their black friday sale on wednesday...

No As long as you have a sicker on the botton of your PC with the M$ install code, you do not need to buy a copy of windows. The media can be downloaded, just hope you do not have a slow internet connection like mine!

Really stupid question. I own a legit OEM for system builders copy of windows 7 ultimate, the G73 doesn't come with Ultimate so 1, can I use the windows key that comes with the new ASUS with my Ultimate disc? Or 2, what is the risk of using the key that came with my copy of Ultimate? I will still be using the install on the laptop I bought it for.

No such thing as a stupid question. Short answer for #1 NO, Bottom line your key is tied to your machine once it is activated. this link explains it better than I can
