I use windex multisurface without ammonia, it cleans everything and you don't have to worry about damaging laptop screens with it. If you use regular windex you can damage the polarized coating on the screen.

Power down your laptop, open it up about 90 degrees and lay it on the back of the screen. Then you can clean the screen until you're happy with it. I usually spray the screen then kind of scrub it, then use a dry clean paper towel to polish it dry. It works great on matte and glossy screens.
