Yesterday I was playing the new game Deus Ex: Human Revolution for about 3 hours, when suddenly my laptop shut down. I tried to start it up, but the laptop protected itself and shut off again. After about 15 minutes, it came on (by itself).

Now, I think this is because the laptop overheated during playing the game. I have the laptop for almost exactly one year now, and I have not repasted it. During idle times, my temps read 60 celsius for the CPU and 71 celsius for the GPU. This is when the fans are spinning pretty loudly already. During playing the temps can get above 90.

Is it worth it to open my laptop and clean it? If so, how would I best be doing this? (Without voiding my warranty).

I would re-paste i just did mine with ICD7 idle i'm 52-54 Celsius and 79-82 under full load means i have bin playing all day :) plus i gives you a good time to blow out everything. If you don't want to re-paste take the cover off the bottom take a can of air and blow into the back of the fans anything that dose blow into computer blow out where you took the cover off.

Here is the video i used and my desktop when i did mine just take more care on your keyboard than guy in video and you will be fine just take your time.

Thanks alot Bodycount69! I blew out dust that was stuck in my gpu and cpu fan. Didn't know it would be that much dust :p It definitely helps my temps for around 10-15 degrees celcius.

Maybe later on I will repaste, but I am too scared to break my laptop now.
