    Clevo 7970m in asus G73JH? it feels like it's been a year since i i was in this section. I wanted to be sure i remember right but, isn't the clevo 7970m compatible with the G73JH?

    It has to be the revision that supports the hm vbios.

    For the clevo it has to be the older version with extra capacitors on which i believe is the 2.0 PCB where as the newer 1.1 (IIRC) does not work.

    any chance someone could shed some light on the models we can use?? I have been looking on ebay and there are a few. 09XVK3, 747M2.. I am unsure which will be best as the descriptions are pretty vague as to exactly which card these are.

    For the clevo cards look for ones with the additional hand soldered capacitors between the inductors, those are the first batch that should work.

    I have v1.1 and it has those bigger caps soldered. Anyone knows if it would be compatible or not. Additional info - only v1.2 works on the HM.

    I just create the rare stuff for myself (like a fully populated 980M MXM power card).

    did you add more capacitors? the solder job is good i can't tell what was added.

    I had the missing top 3 MOSFET pads populated, that missing capacitor on the left could also be added to help the extra interference placed on the memory bus. I have moved on now but someone else could give it a shot :)
