I am very confused about the release of this notebook. I can find no information or reference to it on ASUS's official website yet I see people on the internet with this laptop. I understand that distributors and testers are provided with the product for testing. How it is that ebay and some websites are already selling this notebook (under a non-pre order, we have this in stock) option?

There are conflicting post of it's date of release or shipment. Has it been released or not? I am not sure weather to buy it from a website that is selling it. Ebay has it, Gentech has it, Amazon says it HAS NOT been released yet and are only taking pre-orders, and I'm guessing the lack of information on ASUS's official website means it has not been released.

Are these other websites just scams?
Should I purchase this laptop from one of these sites and if so, what is the most reliable or trust worthy?

I have been waiting for this notebook for some time now. I've held off on buying the JH and am waiting for the JW 3d capability and upgraded video card.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, the G73JW-A1 is now available, and most of the Asus resellers who frequent NBR, are very reputable. This guy here, just received his G73JW-A1 today, and he purchased it from GenTech.

The G73JW-3D is not expected to be available until the November timeframe, and whether or not this model will have an upgraded video card, is pure speculation at the moment. For the most part, this 3D model is expected to be configured as the current G73JW-A1 model, but ill have a 120hz screen instead of 60hz.

If you check the Asus Global website you will find the G73jw as a searchable item. Asus is always slow putting up new product to the U.S. section of the website. There is really no good reason for this, but I can tell you that they are in stock and shippable.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
