You can skip 1-4.
1] ...can you put an old-fashion OC on it?
2] ...if so, how much?
3] ...which is better performance wise, regular OCing or Turbo mode?
4] ...how are the temps when OCing [if you can]?
5] EVER have a CPU related issue with a game? [even just a little]
With GTA:IV?
With blowing up buses in Fallout3?
Anything at all?
6] Can you force these into a certain turbo mode, like if you wanted to keep just three cores running to the exclusion of using 4 or 2?

1. No, you cannot OC.
2. refer to #1
3. if possible regular OCing would allow higher clocks, but again, see #1
4. check #1. -
doesnt asus have a turbo mode for 10-15% overclocking? at least in some of their laptops
-
dunno how that'd work for i7 besides maybe give it 1 extra bin per mode.

Most G50 and up series come with Power4Gear or a similar CPU overclock functionality and this is no exception. Using the “extreme turbo” preset, the CPU overclocks about 6% to 1696mhz. I find this useful as it diminishes the need for the stock Core i7 820 processor. So far, performance has been top notch.
lol 6%....
this is for an Asus G51J-A1
Considering a G73JH-A1, questions about the i7 720 for current users of this CPU in other ASUS laptops.
