I don't whether anyone acknowledged that, but if you take out the battery and flip it around (like in the picture) you can lift your notebook higher and thus decrease its distance from the table you are playing at probably lowering the temperature. What is cool about it, is the fact that you will hear a 'click' just like you would place it in the normal way and it makes the laptop totally stable. Check it out and let me know if you like it and most importantly does it make any difference. (please don't tell you knew about  )

Wait, your not using it like that to also power the laptop right? (Idk how you could) But just as a sort of "stand" to raise it up?

Well I haven't thought of that - anyway I have small separate keyboard for playing, so should though avoid pushing or pulling to have it broken. I will test that, hopufully not broke it.

Yep exactlly - I guess that's good for long and planned period of time, but anyway it would be awesome if you could use it to calibrate the height and charge it the same time.

You're funny. :D Sooner or later, The plastic lining to guide your battery when you put it in will giveup because of the weight of the laptop. It's not meant for that use. And theres a lot of ways raising the end of the laptop without taking off the battery like you did.

You know, at your local corporately owned hardware store they sell packs of appliance "feet" Sticky on one side, rubbery on the other, in varying sizes. A few bucks for an 8 pack and you can get a 2" lift to the back side of the machine without any potentially negative side effects.

Or even better, get those laptop "stands", they're adjustable for any size laptops and give you a nice lift from the desk.

I came up with this due to the fact I do a lot lan parties - this is the reason I invested in laptop instead of regular PC. I like when I can pack all the stuff in one practical bag and move around without bigger effort. Previously I had a HP dv-5 laptop which heated so badly - I made my own cooling pad (I'll post the photo later) and I couldn't pack it and carry in my hands. Anyway my g73 doesn't get overheated noticably. I also have the gaming gear, so once raised nothing should happen.
