I just bought a G73JH on ebay yesterday and was wondering if a cooler is necessary when it arrives at my house. I had got a Zalman nc2000 a couple weeks ago for my G51VX(which didn't really help at all).I'm getting rid of the G51 b/c it just runs too hot. Should I return the zalman cooler to newegg for my money back when I get the G73? Opinions appreciated. Thanks!

Likely won't need a cooler. But the Zalman is nice, and you might like the angle ...

It's true. Just a repaste on gpu will be fine. But if you still going the buy a cooler anyway, This is one cool cooler. Haha. SF-19 (USB 2.0) - Cooler Master Links where to get it. Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER SF-19 Notebook Cooler Model SGA-4000-KKNF1 or this with the 3.0 ports. Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER SF-19 Strike Force Notebook Cooler Model SGA-6000-KKYF1 Hope it helped.

You shouldn't "need" a cooler. If your G73 runs hot, the only real solution is to repaste, the best a cooler will do is 3C if that. A repaste can drop some people 20C+.
I would furmark your G73 after you get it and update to 211 (or 213) bios. Then take the temp results and read Chastity's Read First thread to decide if you need a repaste. My opinion is anything over 100C should repaste, over 90 but less than 100 is ok but not great, anything less than 90 is good. -
I have never needed a cooler, ever. My G73 still runs very cool, elevating it a little from the back will probably help more than a cooler would.
Cooler necessary for the G73JH-RBBX05?
