So owners of the G60vx, as you probably know that G60vx has a poor airflow IMO, the circular thing underneath which i thought was a air vent, but its not. Only warm air circulate the laptop which will heat up the g60 really quick. Right now my core temperature is 40-50c, it varies from what i do, i havent tested any games on it yet but im sure the core and gpu will jump up somewhere from 70-90c. I read from a lot of websites who own the g60 that it gets over heated really quick and makes the game very unplayable. I was wondering for those who own this laptop if there is anyway to cool down the laptop. I have a cooling pad, a cheap one tho, but it prob brought the whole system down by 1-2c. Any ways just wondering if i can get some advice and tips. Thank you. Just bought this yesterday.

A cooler pad will help, however make sure it isn't hampering the lappy's cooling (position of the fans etc)

Temps on my G51J (very similar to yours, same chassis but with i7 chipset) are lowered by up to 5 C with my yumcha cooler. My temps are max 80C-ish CPU, 95C GPU and that's with a GPU overclock because it gets that hot anyway because at stock GPU the fan doesn't spin up to highest. Stupid.

Other than that, make sure the fans are clean and no dust inside, that g60vx may have been in storage for a while, and that there's good quality thermal goop on the CPU and GPU.

Your notebook is an Asus G series. It is going to run very very hot there's nothing you can do about it. If it does Thermal Throttle then there's something wrong with it, those limits are up around 108C for the gtx260m and 125C for my i7, but I'd notice the smoke and melting long before they got there.

okay ill deff open it up and check it out so far, im thinkin about adding some thermal pads and copper sheets around the pipes and such. For the cooling pad, im using a very cheap one i got at walmart, the targus one silver with the 2 fans, im thinkin of building one with all the fans layin around my house, use it until i get a new better one, any suggestion on what type of cooling pads taht is good for these types of laptop? what are you using?

Use it in an air conditioned room, for my G73 i get about 5 degree Celsius difference when i use it in the office and when i use it at home. I'm in singapore so ambient temperature here on average is around 31.
