Every other game runs perfectly. Whenever I start CS 1.6, it turns on, and before the menu comes up, it quits. I used to play competitively, but now I just wanna play some LAN with a few friends, but can't. It sucks. All the newer games run just fine.

    Any ideas?

Does it just randomly close or do you get an error? Are you playing through steam?, If so, you may have to delete the game and reinstall it

    "-d3d" under advanced launch options.

Assuming if your copy is from Steam.

Seems to be software/game problem than a G73 problem. Do a full reinstall of the game.

It works... BUT, D3D looks like crap as the only supported resolution is 640x480 and whenever you switch to OpenGL it just crashes again. Why won't it run in OpenGL? Whenever you try to bump up the res it says "the specified video mode is not supported".

It closes right after I start it. I've found it that it's an OpenGL compatibility issue. However, D3D nor software mode support anything higher than 640x480 resolution. There is no error other than the one mentioned in my previous post (after launching in D3D mode). Cannot find anything online nor in any other forums :\
