Couple Questions About G74-SX

So I picked up this notebook and must say I pleased with the performance so far, overall a great purchase.

The questions I have are the following:
Is there a way to purchase a blu-ray burner off ebay or somewhere online? I'd like to upgrade to that as it wasn't an option from where I purchased it.

2nd question:
The only thing I like on the Alienware's is the colored keyboard, is there a way to get one of those for this model?

Last question:
I keep hearing mixed reviews on this one and its not a big deal, just curious, is the GPU a replaceable part on the G74?

Generally, you can find optical drives that will go into these units at online marketplaces such as Amazon.

There is a way to change the color on these (using a colored gel) but you cannot change colors during operation. This is something that several users have done and a lot of resellers offer with the new machines.

You cannot change out the GPU on these units.

Is there a certain type I need for the BD Drive or any one should fit?

If someone has a part number from their G74 that they can provide that would be great.


Does the gel work pretty good and is it easy to add? Or does it make the keyboard pretty dim?
