Ok, finally got my new SW Motherboard and my GTX 560M from a G53SX. I modified the heatsink from the SW and put it on the 560M. The computer boots no problems, Windows 8 loaded. It's using a generic Windows display driver. When I try install nVidia Drives it says that it's not compatible. If I try to manually install the drivers it gives me a message that there was a error installing drivers.
So Great Gaming G Series Guru's. Lets hear some ideas on how to get this thing running correctly.
Bit more info:
G73SW-BST6
Bios 205
VBIOS: 70.26.29.00.0F.N48G53

Just a message "Error installing driver" ?
No ideas on windows 8 but is the driver signature check disabled ? ...should not effect anything if its from nvidia and not moded. Ran the installer as admin i presume. You might want to check if software is able to detect the GPU as a nvidia card or just detects it as a unknown. Even without the drivers it should get information from the vbios. -
Well got it sorted thanks to someone over at ROG forums. It was the signature driver requirement that was preventing the driver from installing. I disabled that and it installed right away.
Here is a quick screen shot showing my G73SW running the GTX 560M. I'll post some pic's of the heatsink mod in the morning.
