I just noticed today that my performance on games really sucks when on battery. I was playing Dirt 3 and have no problems and i accidentally booted the game with no AC power and i didnt notice it until i noticed that the game played like absolute crap on settings that usually get me 55-60fps.
I plugged in the AC cord, restarted the game, and everything was back to normal.
I know its not ideal to play with only battery but is there a fix for this?
some info:
asus g73jh, ccc version 11.11 , bios 213, chastity vbios

You will have to change all your power settings in windows or P4G and CCC to get full performance on battery for both CPU and GPU. However, i advise against doing it.
-
I believe the reason for such horrible performance while on battery is that the battery is unable to to provide sufficient power for the laptop to perform at 100%. Correct me if I'm wrong but the battery is 95 Watts vs the power adapter being 150 Watts.
-
I believe you can force full performance on battery but why would you want that? You'll only be able to play for like 30 minutes.
Power settings show that both CPU and GPU speeds are heavily limited when on battery.. so... -
It's not just that, some batteries don't like being drained that fast too.
-
As others said, it's possible to get full performance on battery, but you would need a replacement battery very soon.
-
It is NOT possible with Nvidia card, it reduces the clock automatically and I don't think there's a way to force it other than modding VBIOS.
Correct me if I'm wrong - I spent more than enough time trying to get games going on battery. -
Imho it's hardware regulated.
You can't go full load on battery because of the mentioned arguments. -
Thank you guys it makes sense now!
