Heres the situation. about a month ago i was using the razer mouse that came with my g73jh and i started having a problem. single left clicks would RANDOMLY register as double clicks, well i thought the mouse was faulty.

Next I tried using my logitech bluetooth mouse, same problem only worse. so i started using the mouse control panel to test my double click speed, setting it to high so it would only catch a double click if it was real fast. same situation

I try testing the touchpad buttons, and it never has this problem BUT i cant use my touchpad because it has never worked right since i bought this computer a year ago (it can go wacko and jump all over the place)

My next thought was it has to be a Virus, I tried several different antivirus softwares and none can find this issue, so my thought is to format the hard and reinstall only the win 7 OS. Well after doing that it was still a problem, so i thought let me try a diffrent os so i installed Ubuntu Linux, same issue ( touchpad works but all other mice USB or Bluetooth have random double clicks)

So my next thought is maybe its a virus that infected the bios. so from a new install of win7 I reflash the bios, same issue.

what could cause a computer to have random double clicks in USB and Blutouth mice but not the touchpad ? For the touchpad I changed from the included driver to the standard microsoft PS/2 driver , either driver and the touchpad does NOT have this problem

I did find a obscure webpage reference where a random left double clicking virus was reinfecting a computer by writing code to the AUTORUN.INF file, but i cant see that being my problem because mine happens on different platforms (OS's)

Im starting to think it is just some new hardware defect in my computer

    What do you think?

    Thanks for reading this

I get this as well. I actually replaced my microsoft habu because I thought it was defective... until my replacement started doing the same.

I don't think I'm ever buying another asus as a regular use machine. Random double clicks are alright occasionally, unless you're gaming and it screws with that as well.

Do all 3 of you also have trackpad issues? Have you disabled the trackpad in BIOS and see if the issue continues?

Chasity- I disabled the device in bios and i still have the problem
I also ran memory test with no errors

I cant think of anything else to try, What would interfere with input from the usb and bluetooth?

Thank you so much for responding. Im glad to know im not alone.

I've postponed RMA hell for over a year now, Im starting to think I will have to go that route!

If I do RMA does anyone have suggestions on where to have it sent, Im in Southern California , will they let me choose?
