    Hello,
i am looking at this model since everyone claims it is so quiet and it takes in air from the top instead of the bottom (so you could actually use it on your lap without a cooler in between). If you own it can you tell me is it true it stays silent even at gaming?

But the main thing i want to ask is if anyone knows is there perhaps any reseller in EU that would offer to customise it like XoticPc does?

    My ideal config would be:
1600x900 screen (dont like the full hd since things get too small on it and scaling down isnt an option since you loose the quality of picture you get at native - but if i can get a config with all other components i listed i wouldnt mind so much having a 1920x1080),
i7-820qm (i7-720qm would do if i can get a 1600x900 screen with it - i really want one of these two)
    8gb (4x2gb) ram
both hard drive bays available (dont care which hds come with it)
    mobility 5870
    blu-ray reader

If anyone can point me to something even close id be very grateful..

    Just to warn you:

people are saying that the screen quality of the 1600x900 is very bad compared to the 1920x1080 version. And it is not just about rez but contrast and lighting too.

Otherwise I would also like a EU shop that would do this. I've been looking but no luck at the normal CLEVO resellers.

Overclock the 720 like betaflame and have the 1080P screen and lower the res to 1600x900 or make the items and web-pages larger in windows. I don't think the 820Q is a waste of time, the 920 is worth it and this machine is designed to take it.

$1100 for a stock upgrade or $900 if you do it yourself and void your 2 year warranty.

performance boost? 20% on CPU, nil on games (okay maybe 1-2%). Massive heat and power draw increase.

for $900-1100? 920xm is not worth it

Hey if mandrake could have the most coolest G73 then why not everyone else lol, but i am just making a point, i would not do it anyway. The m17x has a better design for cooling for a 920EX.

I dont want to scale down from 1920x1080 becouse the quality is NEVER the same as at native resolution.
I know the i7-820qm is expensive but i like the idea of having the higher clocks with turbo boost (2,8ghz for 2 cores instead of 2,4ghz is the main one im looking at, but 2,0ghz instead of 1,7ghz for 4 cores also inst bad), but i see that you can overclock the cpus in the bios on this machine - is this correct?
If so ill probably just go with the RBBX05 and upgrade the ram to 8gb and buy another hard drive bay caddy.

I've also been looking for a seller in Europe for the G73JH. I found www.play.com and www.asuslaptop.co.uk (neither have stock at the moment) but they don't offer the ability to customise the laptop so I'm looking into either just taking the stock version they sell or ordering from Xotic PC for import.
