I'm not sure if this goes along with experiencing missing keystrokes, but whatever it is. It's infuriating.

I'm on an ASUS G73JH and I'm noticing when I'm pressing one key, only CERTAIN other keys will refuse to work as well. I've tried rebooting and even doing a system restore but nothing works. Even disabling Synaptics and the touch pad.

One example is when I'm holding 'W' to walk in a game, the Space Bar refuses to respond so I'm unable to jump or do other actions. Same thing goes with the Shift key. If I'm holding shift, the space bar won't work. Same with W to E and E to R. Any ideas?

I have had this happen with the S key in programs and web pages. And no matter what I do I have to restart the software or reboot to get it back. This has been happening from the first day I got the computer.

It acts like a keyboard driver conflict with some software. As it seems to be random when and where it shows up.
I have seen others with this issue but it does not seem to be the same key on everyone's computer.

How do you restart the software? I have yet to give that a try. At this point I'm just wanting to get it fixed but not sure how. Every time I've restarted the computer nothing changes.

TenderPox I did not make myself very clear on this. What I should have said is that I have to shut down the software that I am using, Like firefox or a word processor . That is what I ment for that to say.
I started by rebooting the computer, but I found that I did not need to do that.
I do not know what the cause is yet but I am looking to see if I can see a conflict anywhere that might be the cause. If I find it I will post.

Alright, I understand. Though I am curious, is there a way to return the laptop to factory settings or something? And If I do so will it wipe everything I've installed off the laptop?

I think I might have just fixed my problem. I pressed CTRL+FN+ALT and then pressed all the keys that seemed to be malfunctioning. I also pressed FN+ALT and those same keys but didn't test it. It seems the keys are working perfectly right now. I'm not sure why it was all affected by that but it's working.
