so here is the difference between both the GPUs ...Left one is the Nvidia and right one is the ATI .... when i inserted the Nvidia both the fans started to spin at normal speed but there was no image and then i removed and reinserted it again then it didnt even turned on ! the blue led just turned on and off again ...nothing else

I'm not completely sure about compatibility issues, chances are you would need some sort of flash for the GeForce. Is there something wrong with the HD5870?

EDIT: I saw your post looking for a used HD5870, I'm sorry it died on you. I found this link here that might be of help

Don't asus put the vbios on the system bios in that model, the system bios would need to have the new vbios Incorporated IIRC.

Not easily, it involves unpacking it, replacing the file with your own and packaging it back up in a fashion that will compile back into a package that wont brick the machine. Maybe you could try finding an active member who has done the mod and PM them, but it was a while back so that may be tricky.

At this point that generation of machine is going beyond economic repair at this point.

Mobile cards do tend to retain their value over time it's true, good in some ways, annoying in others.

hey it worked like a charm only the fans i guess are spinning at full speed...now i have another problem lol...the lcd cable is i guess making the problem now the colors of the screen are different ...i am attaching the photos kindly check them...my original cable was damaged so i replaced it with a new one i can only see blurry text and weird colors...i thought of using the old damaged cable it also showed me the display but same colors but much clearer than the new one
