Just installed the game and starting playing through the first level. Runs very very well and very smooth. I wont mention the game as I have really only started playing but im gripped within 10 minutes just from the story. The stealth is very well done and as I hate stealth games im amazed how much I enjoy this.
The talks about the graphics not being fantastic are true you cannot compare this to a game like Crysis 2 but in favour of that it runs from 37fps I have seen lowest to 54fps I have seen highest without looking at the floor ceiling etc which jumps to 60+. Averages mid 40's maxed and no lag spikes or rapid drops in frames. I will test at 1080p but I am not home at the moment, with a slight tweak to the settings 1080p should run fine above 30fps. I set my clocks lower so you can compare. Setup sig. GPU: 800/1100.
900p
All settings maxed out
DOF on High
SSAO on High
Tesselation on
AA x4 AF x16
Screenshots: (last 4 have fps)

Thanks for the screenshots.
Try the FXAA injector. I know Deus Ex is supposed to use FXAA, but believe it uses the first gen FXAA. The injector is the 3rd gen FXAA which has performance improvements plus you can customize the settings for sharpness etc.
Timothy Lottes, the creator of FXAA has said the 3rd Gen is considerably faster than the first which Crysis 2, F3AR, Deus Ex uses. -
Will upload more once I hit a proper fight scene and get some on screen effects going to damage the frames.
-
This game is pretty awesome. I can say, on the 720m @ stock speeds, it can get a bit chunky at times, but tomshardware did a benchmark review of the game, and it turned out to be more stressful on the CPU then GPU at highest settings.
At the moment, I'm running max everything and MLAA (game engine setting) @ 1080p, but my gpu is pushed to 825/1100 to remove most of the fps dips. I havent really hit any crazy scenes yet with it on max, as before, I was playing with slightly below max, but no OC on the GPU. The story is rather gripping, on par with the Mass Effect series if you ask me, but the game-play feels a notch up from ME2 (I'm playing on the hardest setting thus far, and while a huge challange, its not impossible, just takes a bit more brain-power). First real mission, I did non-leathel, and never seen, which was tough as balls! -
Ok here are some more screenshots of more graphical scenes. The frames have got better since I got out of the first lobby. They rarely drop into the 30's at all. I tested FXAA High for you and I notice no difference in appearance or frames compared to the max setting MLAA.
Gun fights are quite good and you are thrown straight into the game.
First impressions:
Graphics 8/10
Gameplay 8/10
Sounds FX 8/10
Story 9/10

Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
I just played a good hour yesterday.
1080p, dx11, Dof/SSAO/shadows to normal,AF16x,FXAA on minimum.
I'm averaging 45fps. In heavy situations in doing 38-40, while in relatively calm scenes I can go up to 74fps, being 55 the average.
I'm going to test the game with Dallers settings althought I doubt I can achieve such fps, the game is clearly optimized for amd hardware (much like dirt series).
It's great none the less, it has the whole DeusEx Feeling which is an awesome thing.
Gonna test it later -
Game runs well in instanced zones, but in the city hub it stutters like crazy.
-
I tested 1080p maxed out and you dont lose as many frames as I thought it would low 30's in the intense scenes scraping 40 everywhere else. Have to remember as well this is release pre patch so once they start updating it it should run around 40-60 easily.
Should tie me over till Skyrim and BC3 -
Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
Ok i have made a few tests, no screenshots yet (just one).
900p,dx11/tess. on/post processing on/shadows-dof-ssao max/fxaa minimum.
And im getting 40-45 of average in first mission/detroit/warehouse) with 800/1600/1600.
The game has been patched already which doesnt improve anything, beside a better mouse handling, a few crashfix on amd and such. Its a 12mb patch btw.
So yes at 900p maxing out the game (minus AA, althought the min. FXAA does kill the jaggies pretty much) is def. playable and enjoyable.
The lowest ive gone in intense fights or cutscenes is 35-32, which still super smooth.
Also vsyinching the game helps a bit because it has the triple buffer option; but thats what is causing the stuttering-crash as far as the reports goes. -
Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
Ok here i am.
These screenshots have been taken as i said above with these settings:
900p
Dof maxed
Shadows maxed
SSAO maxed
DX11 enabled
Tessellation ON
Post Process ON
Vsync Off
Triple Buffering Off
AA OFF
Now about AA=OFF im using the external FXAA injector/wrapper to see how it stacks against the FXAA offered in game. Basically the performance hit is lower than Maximum FXAA offered in game, it may explain the fact that its an old implementation. The injector should be newer.
The wrapper can be found here http://www.forum-3dcenter.org/vbulletin/attachment.php?attachmentid=40459&d=1313272511; copy DX10 content to game folder where's the exe file.
PAUSE button enables it or disables it, DEL button makes a screenshot. However im using fraps F10 hotkey.
Anyway heres some screenshots, i didnt resized them, so zoom in. FPS counter should be readable. I tried to take the screenshots in a crowded area with alot of effects; fxaa is noticiable.
FXAA enabled
FXAA disabled
FXAA enabled
FXAA disabled
Again OC isnt that high, 800/1600/1600. Game patched to patch 1.01, 280.26 whql drivers. -
imo, any of the modern games at 900p can be run pretty smoothly. Its 1080p that's the challenge.
-
Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
Thats true.
As I said I need to scale down SSAO and shadows to normal while retaining everything else while having roughly the same fps (with fxaa method I described). -
Hello guys. Today I bought DVD version of DEHR (Limitied). Problem is that game doesnt even load in my DVD drive, but with any other discs I dont have any problems, so DVD drive is ok. Does anybody has same problem ? Im reading official forums, but didnt find any solution yet. Thank you for any advice in advance.

I'm more worried about BF3 on the G73
-
Game runs fine with SSAO, FXAA High, and DX11 on with DOF and Tessellation off. Both I find are annoying and DOF is just stupid, it's not how our eyes work, our eyes are able to focus, unlike movie cameras. I prefer to play a game as I see, not how a damn camera sees.
Anyway, yes, it runs fine if you turn off Tessellation which is nice but has minimal improvements and greatest impact on performance and DOF is just rubbish crap from people who watch way too much TV/Movies. -
Looking forward to playing this game, am glad it runs so well..
LOL @ last screenshot in 1st post.. Read what the subtitles say with context to the what's in the picture. Dallers, you naughty boy..! -
I have a G73JH and while running the game is smooth most of the time, I kpet having stutter problem during the cutscenes. Plus the in game hold tab for tutorial will straightaway freeze the game. Cutscenes lead to freeze randomly as well. Anyone has any suggestions? Thanks!

I haven't had a chance to crack on with Deus Ex yet as been trying to get my IS-3 in WoT anyone can say what its like once you get into it? Is it worth getting going with now or worth a quiet week in the winter sometime to play it?
-
No idea, I got as far as about you did.
But reading the Gaming forum, it looks like it's a 15-20 hour game with a few side quests. So I'm guessing this may be a perfect game for your quiet week in the winter, since you may want to marathon the game for a week
Although you may also be spending your quiet winter nights screaming at the screen as snipers in BF3 are killing you spamming the 3D spotter. -
I just dont see it being my type of game to be honest think I will play it through this week though 15-20 hours sounds like a days work. -
Spent this afternoon playing for 3 hours and just cant get into the whole stealth thing. Sad because the game seemed pretty good but there was far too much talking and listening and not enough questing and killing for my liking I am clearly a Mass Effect man rather than an espionage.
The game runs very well on the JH though for those considering buying it and I found no problems or bugs with the game running at release without any patches. -
It's an odd game. Because the killing in the game is pretty decent. I like that enemies with armor can't be one shot killed and those with head gear can't get just headshot 1 hit. The melee kills are gruesome. I like the recoil on the guns.
Yet...
The game wants you to stealth, the consequences for killing are just too great in the few hours even though you just want to stab everyone. -
I just dont do stealth haven't tried melee kills yet will check it out. -
-
Yeah im just shooting everyone in the head just did the police station mission and was mighty tricky luckily I had the tranq gun with like 20 rounds so just knocked them all out and dragged them away from the camera's.
Sticking on hard mode was maybe a bad idea though ammo is scarce! -
What I really hate about this sneaking business is that you can't choose what move to do. He has a half dozen different ways to knock people out.
Example
Situation: Dude has back to me, he is leaning on a rail on the second floor looking below where the other officers are doing their paper work.
What I want: I want to just cover his mouth and sleeper choke and quietly remove the guy.
What Jensen does: Taps him on shoulder. When he turns, Jensen punches him so hard, the dude goes flying over the rail, lands on top of desks below, alarm goes off, and I die from a dozen bullets.
Me: Not happy and thinking ... Why would you punch him over the rail! -
hahaha I gotta try out some of these moves sounds awesome!
-
Soooooo I carried on playing and god damn its getting awesome. Get past the police station bit and go kill the gang and then the story kicks in and its pretty much all guns blazing.
.....I am actually beginning to use stealth out of my own choice there is something very special about this game....
P.S the sniper rifles still to come as well, smart. -
There are definitely some cool moments to look forward to later on in the game... (not giving any spoilers, so don't ask)
PS- I've been playing on uber hard only, after you get some augs under your belt, it gets easier... and one you get a hang of the game (happened some time after the police station for me) -
Yeah i like this game, today i installed a new hdd so am installing steam right now.. Hopefully the save backup i made will work... Just got past police station the yesterday.
-
bah, you all ruined my plans! I was going to take the day off from gaming and take care of some stuff around the house, and posting in this thread made me want to play some DE:HR
-
I am on CCC 11.5 and my performance seems fine. 11.8 recommended? Or these ones?? http://forum.notebookreview.com/asu...607816-amd-11-8-preview-updated-gl-4-2-a.html Whatever the difference maybe. -
hahaha.
-
But I have preview installed and I get around 45-60 FPS with SSAO normal, DOF off, Tessellation off, FXAA high, 1080p -
