1)So I've reset my WE index, and my HD5870 score 7.2 vs 6.1 before. How???

2)Now, CPUID started showing that my CPU is not 740qm, but a 820qm, as far as I know 820qm has 8mg cache vs 6mg for 740qm

Anyone has an explanation for this things? (BST7 from bestbuy)

I've heard the BB Models come with all kinds of weird stuff lol... My brother just got one that was opened previously to him buying it and it came with the 80 GIG Intel SSD in the 2nd HD Bay with freaking cardboard holding it in place.
He got the 1066 Ram though, I got the 1333, his came with 1920x1200... Mines the 1600x900... Go go Best Buy randomization! It was the same thing when I had bought my Gateway FX P-7805u from Best Buy. I luckly got the 1920x1200. I think the employees open these things up and mess with them for fun, hehehe Geek Squad.

Lol, I wonder what do the specs sheets look like in the store?
"Product may contain: random additional HDDs, 8GB of some kind of RAM, a screen with no less than 1024x600 resolution, and traces of peanut."

Windows still tells me it's a i7 740qm, but CPUD tells me it's 820QM, but before reseting WE index it was telling me i7 740Qm. This has nothing to do with Best Buy, but I'm wondering how could the original WE index on my graphics card be 6.0 and after reseting it became 7.2. But hte more than anything, Im sooooo curious how the reset of WE indicators could have made CPUID think i have a different CPU. Anyone???

WEI is little better than a random number. I'd only worry if you see an change in the actual performance of your GPU.

You can always re-download CPUID and/or try a different application to see if it is just a corrupt/buggy report.

Maybe you do have an 820 that was installed after Windows was installed. It has been a while since I've done a CPU upgrade, but as I recall, after starting up with the new CPU you have to remove the CPUs in Device Manager and reboot. On rebooting Windows will detect the CPU again and should show the correct device.
