Hello! This is my first post. I've been looking at getting a g73jh computer, but I've found these two different models with around a $250 price difference. I've looked at the two models and the only differences seem to be:

The x1 has two more gigabytes of ram, the same processor with a slower speed (1.6GHz) while the bst7 has (1.73GHz).

Also the x1 has less hard drive space but has a larger rpm of (7200rpm) while the bst7 has only (5400rpm).

These are the only differences I've spotted and the bst7 is cheaper. I don't know a ton about computers. I plan on using whichever computer I buy for lots of gaming, and I'm wondering if one model will perform significantly better than the other and if it's worth it to spend the extra $250 for the x1. Any help is appreciated.

As far as gaming goes, both models will perform exactly the same or just about. The BST7 might perform a little tiny bit better in CPU heavy games but it should be exactly the same (The BST7 is a lower resolution so it will perform better in that regard but at the same resolution it should be the same). But yeah besides the differences you've mentioned, there's nothing much else different except the X1 is 1920x1080 and the BST7 is 1600x900. I think the webcam is better on the X1 but I doubt you care.

Thanks for the help. How important is hard drive speed? I've read online from some people that there is a significant difference between 5400 rpm and 7200 rpm and that it can lag your game, I've also read however that it has little or no affect on performance.

Don't use a 5400 drive for your system drive... the slowness is slow.

For the $250 in savings you mentioned, you could always buy a solid state drive, and use the original drive for storage...
