There is no setting in the BIOS to disable hyperthread. I really need to disable it and there is no option at all to do so. Is there any other way at all to do it?

Hi, I don't know of a way with the normal BIOS (there is a special one floating around in this forum, but watch out, you might brick your laptop).
But I wonder, why do you want to disable it?

I think it may be causing performance issues with maya 2012. I get 7 FPS when playbacking my scenes. I have to go to task manager and set cpu afinity to only use one core. With 1 core i get 19 FPS. So i asume it has to do with hyperthread.

Is the bios version official?? I really dont want to brick my laptop. :p.

    Hi there,

You might like to try Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and see if you can do it in there. My clevo BIOS is locked but it allows me to using this facility.

I just did something risky. I modded the 213 Bios, and unlocked the hyperthreading option. Turned it off, but.... It didn't work. Windows shows 8 cores. :(.
