Long story shot, while trying to apply a matte screen protector onto my g53sw, some soap water soaked inside the lcd along with some dust as well. The monitor still functions but i have small patches and dots of areas which are brigther than the surrounding. I suspect those are dust or water left in between the lcd filter layers... I have dried it for several weeks already so its unlikely to get better.

So i had a look on wikipedia and a simple diagram shows that a typical TN lcd panel is composed of several layers. It should be possible to take them apart and clean them? Even if i can take it apart, there is still the problem creating a dust free environment and during the process i might end up with more dust than i began with.

Is it really worth going through all this trouble..? I feel like an idiot for letting the soap water in....

I know its possible to get replacement panels, but getting it shipped to NZ would cost ~150 usd in total for another glossy screen that i was trying to make matte... with a little more money i can get a decent external monitor such as the dell u2312hm which i have been planning on to get...
