When I overclock, sometimes while I'm gaming, display drivers stop working and my screen freezes up for a few seconds then starts back up. Obviously by reducing my oc a bit, this doesn't happen.
But why does display drivers stop? I was hoping there was some way I can overclock a bit more.
GPU temp is at 68c (normally 74c)
edit - oh and I'm using the amd clock tool to oc

temperature is not the only factor. You just can't unless overvolt GPU by custom bios.

So I need to increase the voltage on my laptop? How would I do that?

As far as I know, you won't be able to increase the voltage of the G73's GPU as I heard before that it is hardware limited. I tried increasing its voltage before using AMD GPU clock tool but it won't work. Have you tried overclocking using Chastity's vbios (the one that enables overdrive)? Maybe it's worth a try. I myself overclock my G73JH using that method.

Your GPU is simply not stable at those clocks, you will have to back it off a bit.

I never got around to trying it when she made the vbios update. Always just used the amd tool. I installed the beta amd drivers and now instead of display drivers stop working, it just freezes xD
I played Blade and soul and downlocking by 5 till it stopped freezing. STable clocks for me is 780/1030 from 700/1000
O well, guess its about time I update soon. -

Off topic but
I've been waiting for that to come out forever!! But all their site ever says is "Currently in development for the West"
Back on topic. I've had that error happen a few times and just randomly, and have also have seen plenty posts here with the same question. Have never found a solid answer for it though, it just seems to go away after a while.
