Does the G750 run 1866 or 2133 ram at full speed?

I've just purchased a G750 and it's only coming with 8gb ram, so i'm planning on upgrading the ram to 32gb.
Now, I was looking at the G.Skill 2133 ram, but I wasn't sure if it would run at full speed. I've tried searching, but the only thing I was able to find was someone saying the HM87 chipset will only run ram at 1600 max. Now, Crucial says that their 1866 ram is compatible, but I just want to be sure before I go and buy any ram.
Any insight on this would be great, thanks!

I think its 1866MHz max... You can't OC the 4700HQ so no point of getting 2133MHz RAM...

The reason i'd get the 2133 is because it's not that much more expensive and then I have it for the future as well.

Not as default no, stick with 1866mhz as it will be the best speed for mobile parts until DDR4 arrives to replace it.

It should work but the timings wont be optimal, there is a chance it wont but that is rare to get a conflict.

    Hi Meaker,

I bought Kingstom ValueRam with 1600mhz. Then I saw today that Kingstom Hyperx with 1866mhz also fits and there is only 10€ difference between 16gb valueram and 16gb hyperx.

It specifically shows that both of them are fine for g750jz

So just I am in doubt if I need to go with 1866mhz hyperx or I just need to keep valueram.

Spending the extra yields no benefit as it will run at 1600mhz when paired with the slower ram.

Yes, it will run at 1600mhz but if hyperx 1866mhz will work with rams which are already in it, then it will be just a future investment. I may upgrade to 32gb ram when the warranty will over.

Hyperx are reasonably better? How do you think?

It's not worth the hassle to migrate the ram over to be fair and we will move to ddr4 over the next couple of years making ddr3 obsolete.

It will work fine most likely, there are some options if it starts playing up to start manually programming them but you should not need to start delving into that.
