Anyone here try using Dolphin with the G73? I've been playing long enough with Dolphin to pretty much know every setting / config out there. But for some reason, it does not run well on the G73. A lot of games like to drop down to 60-70% speed, and some of them even run at that speed consistently. This shouldn't be the case especially with a system of this calibur. Anyone have better luck with this program? Does it have anything to do with quad core support? Are there any work arounds? Thanks in advance.

Most if not all Emulators are heavily CPU bound and the mobile CPUs while fast are not in the same league as the desktop versions that most have ..

Theres not much you can do other then buy a 940xm and hope for a few more frames which will you will certainly get but it will come at a cost $$$ ...

Yea Dolphin is relies on th cpu alot. I use dolphin aswell. Even OC'd the i7 720qm to 3.2ghz and i still didn't get a constant speed. It was decent in most aspects and very much playable.

Make sure you grab the new deolphin 2.0 with the latest rev. Dolphin - Gamecube and Wii Emulator

Also follow thereguide tio increase your speed. Definity helped me run alot of games very smooth.

Why don't you just play at the default resolution of the Gamecube? Do you have to play these games at 1080p considering they haven't been rewritten to really make that much difference?

Upscaling does not increase quality. That's my only suggestion with this.

I just tried New Super Mario Bros at real 1080p (not upscaling, real 1920x1080, 60 fps) and it's a world of difference.

yeah, just get the latest rev and see that how to increase speed guide posted above, constant speed on great resolution. Played Muramasa, Arc Rise Fantasia and dusted off my old Tales of Symphonia for Gamecube. Runs Awesome on the G73.

I'll give it a try tonight - a friend of mine just lent me a copy of Muramasa (the only game that made me consider getting a Wii). Hopefully it'll work fine with SVN 6364. Anyone get it to run using the DX11 plugin on 1080p?

    Edit:

Tested Muramasa on the G73 with most of the default settings at 1080p and it looks absolutely beautiful. I'm a big sucker for hand-drawn 2D sprites and Muramasa just blew my mind. I just wish my friend had Tatsunoko Vs Capcom - I'd love to see that running in HD. :)
