Hey
i have ASUS G-50VT X-6, its an awesome gaming rig on the move. Its been over 2 years that i have been using this and almost all games sailed smoothly on this machine.
Lately i have seen a drop in FPS on ultra / high settings.
So i need to play on Medium settings....
My question is - Can i do any hardware change to increase performance ?? Like upgrading from 4 GB of RAM to 8 GB.
I have NVIDIA latest drivers, using Vista 64bit..Formatted it recently, but i am getting a feel its turning very old.
Please advice what all i can do to this machine to bring this back to life![]()

Cheapest upgrade would be more RAM. If you want your machine to grow wings and fly, get a SSD. Upgrading to Windows 7 64bit is also going to bring a performance boost.

Upgrading to SSD would increase performance while gaming ??

That GPU is getting old, you aren't going to be able to run newish games on high settings.
Try cleaning out your fan and vent area with some compressed air so that your card doesn't throttle down.
Save your money and buy a new lappy. New RAM isn't going to do much for your FPS. Same for an SSD, no FPS benefits. -
Already cleaned vent area, significant drop in temperatures, but no luck with FPS
Cant buy a new laptop right now, need to game on the current laptop ( with updates ) -
unless you can change the GPU there wont be any upgrades you can do that can significantly increase FPS. best thing to do is just save up till you get a newer laptop.
